Canberra Business ‘Revvs Up’ Support For Capital’s Car Clubs
Sponsorship is the key to keeping local clubs ticking along. In the nation’s capital, the city’s automotive enthusiasts are lucky to have business owners Mark and Nicole Roberts in their corner.
“We’ve always believed in the power of community, and this extends to our support of the local car clubs,” said Mark, the South Canberra Battery World Franchise Partner.
“We host a different club’s monthly member’s meeting when we can at the store and provide a discount to the members on the night. A barbecue is also popular.
“These events not only allow members to connect, but also provide opportunities to share knowledge, experience, and our love of cars,” Mark added.
Mark and Nicole moved to Canberra more than 20 years ago to take on the South Canberra store – it’s their unwavering support and passion for community involvement that prompted them to approach the local clubs.
Aside from the hosting, discounts and vehicle education, the team at Battery World South Canberra contributes to the clubs via raffle prizes, donations and a year-round 10% member discount.
The Mercedes Club president, Andrew Witheford, said the cohort were grateful to Mark and Nicole and their team for the continued support.
“Battery World has been a sponsor of the Mercedes-Benz Club of the ACT since 2007. We are very grateful for the long-standing support, and Mark has regularly hosted technical nights for the Club at the store.
“These nights, at which Mark provides us with an overview of recent developments in batteries and vehicle electric technology, are always well-attended and greatly appreciated,” he added
The president of Southern Tablelands 4WD Club further highlighted the importance of the team’s support.
“Battery World South Canberra is one of our longest standing sponsors, and they've been behind the club for 19 years now,” said Southern Tablelands 4WD Club President, Andy Squire.
“We're a local club of about 350 people, and their sponsorship helps us run meetings, events and manage our club property. Without sponsorship like theirs, we wouldn't be able to survive as a community organisation and bring these people together.
“Talking to our members, the store has a really strong reputation and is always on the top of the recommendations list. They also look after our members by providing trade pricing on all batteries, which really helps!” Andy added.
This year marks the couple’s 21st year at the helm of Battery World South Canberra, and they couldn't be happier to call the ‘Bush Capital’ home.
The pair loves supporting the Canberra community, whether through sponsoring local sporting teams, donating to charities, or helping the local coffee café.
