Passion For Holiday Hot Spot Turns Into First Battery World For South Australian Tourist Town

A love affair with South Australia’s Mount Gambier that started with holidays has turned into a complete life change for a now-local couple.

Scott Fitzsimmons and Simone Rodgers were lured by the breathtaking beauty of the Limestone Coast and all the community has to offer.

When they decided they wanted to permanently move here from Warrnambool, at the Victorian end of the Great Ocean Road, they realised Mount Gambier had all they needed, except for one thing. So, the experienced franchise partners are opening the city’s first Battery World store.

Scott and Simone already have an insight into what it takes to run a successful Battery World business with Scott’s brother Brad operating several thriving locations.

“We’ve been in a franchise business before and when we were looking at places we were going to end up, it was here in Mount Gambier,” he said.

“We also liked Battery World’s system and saw a great opportunity here. It’s such a lifestyle, camping, 4x4 type of place, there’s so many holiday parks and the ocean isn’t too far away, so we have all the products to serve the community and their outdoor needs.”

The store will feature a full Battery World fit-out, including branded interior and exterior design, and comprehensive staff training. Located on Commercial Street West, it is strategically positioned at what Scott calls “the gateway to the Great Ocean Road,” making it ideally placed to serve both local residents and the many tourists who visit the popular town.

The Mount Gambier store will provide a wide range of automotive, camping, motorbike, and marine batteries – plus thousands of other power solutions – along with professional testing, delivery and installation services, computer resets, and the support of locally employed staff.
