Battery World Rocklea’s new owner powered by electrical experience
Battery World Rocklea received an energy boost this week when new owner, existing Battery World franchisee and experienced electrician and engineer Leif Belton, flicked the switch on a new era for powering the passion of southside residents.
Leif said the purchase of an existing store during the pandemic was not a deterrent, and his previous hands-on experience in owning Battery World Browns Plains would enhance his ability to support customers and power local community events.
“Acquiring a second Battery World franchise is more about being self-sufficient and being your own boss. I see myself maintaining an active role in both businesses whilst continuing to grow the new one," Leif said.
“My background in electrical engineering and project management enables me to also focus on process improvements.”
With Battery World franchises highly sought after, Leif jumped at the opportunity to acquire a second store in Rocklea, with its territory adjoining Browns Plains.
“It was a no-brainer because it offers plenty of opportunity for growth both through our ability to serve more customers and continue to grow the brand and its product and service offering,” Leif said.
“Rocklea was also the store where I completed my initial Battery World training, so I know the staff well and look forward to working with them again.”
Leif said a lot of hard work has been put into getting the name Battery World Rocklea out there and he looks forward to continuing building on this success.
“One of the prospects that excites me is expanding the service offering of dual battery fitments for camping and 4x4 products by taking advantage of the large on-site fitting bay.
“The future opportunity is to let our customers know the two stores nearby are owned by the same person, where they’ll receive the same great customer service,” Leif said.
“We’re improving our working relationship between the two stores by combining resources to better serve the community.”
Leif added there was plenty of scope to grow through improved customer service, which included Battery World’s 24/7 mobile service and free battery health checks.
Battery World’s General Manager Johnny Kennedy welcomed Leif as the new owner of the Rocklea store and congratulated him on his second franchise acquisition.
“Leif Belton and his teams at Browns Plains and Rocklea, are a prime example of the quality customer service and product expertise we deliver every day,” Johnny said.
“Battery World anticipates the Rocklea store will continue to grow through increased investment in products, customer service and by strengthening local community engagement.
“Our locally-owned franchises are the lifeblood of their local communities and regions.
“This is evident as we continue to work through the challenges brought by COVID-19, with our franchise partners supporting communities with top quality Australian-made products, local expertise and Australia-wide warranties,” Mr Kennedy said.
