One's been a Sunshine Coast local for 15 years, the other an occasional tourist escaping the earthquakes of Christchurch, New Zealand but together they've formed a team ensuring Noosa residents have the right amount of charge.
Barry Schefe and NZ expat Nigel Maynard are the faces behind Noosa's Battery World.
Having travelled around Australia for 11 months before settling in Noosa, Nigel has practical, and hands-on knowledge, about four-wheel drive and caravan batteries along with solar systems. Nigel loves the way technology allows us to stay powered up whether we are camping in the bush or picnicking in a local park.
In 2003, Barry sold his cattle property near Injune in South West Queensland, moving to the Sunshine Coast with his wife and two youngest sons so is keen to assist farmers in the hinterland with their needs.
"Often there is no electricity in machinery sheds, so we can run some cables and hook up a trickle charger to ensure those machines are ready to go when they are next needed," Barry said.
Both are family men so understand budgets can get tight and we are all trying to get more out of our devices, so Noosa Battery World stocks batteries for many of those gadgets with 'hard-to-get' batteries from your older model mobile phone to the very latest in remotes for your garage door.
"We are proudly your Batteryologists," the duo said. "That means being able to provide the best and most up to date battery information: so our store is a one stop shop for the right advice."
Not to mention Battery World Noosa provides 24-hour roadside service and will happily take in your old domestic batteries for recycling from AAs to cars and trucks.
The duo will also support Battery World's charity of choice Soldier On - an organisation supporting our returned veterans.
