From her purple finger nail polish to her purple earrings, Battery World Ipswich’s Ruthie Farrar is a well-known face in her community regularly putting her hand up to support important local events in Ipswich. Ruthie and Howdie Farrar have been Ipswich locals for more than 12 years, choosing to make it their home after retiring from the RAAF.
The store’s commitment to their customers and service are second to none. Battery World Ipswich set a world franchising record being the first franchisee to win Franchisee of the Year three times in a row, which achieving 23 accolades for customer service, marketing and business performance, which speaks volumes to their dedication to customers.
From entering a modern clean vibrant store, customers are greeted by the sales team who thrive on using their expertise to provide a solution to every customer’s power concerns, by taking the stress of a non-functioning product as they turn it into a functioning one.
Their success will always be underpinned by their in-person retail model where the critical elements of trust and certainty combined with a local business owner dedicated to meeting the needs of their diverse customers is what makes them special regardless of the march of technology. The store has extended its trading hours to suit the busy lifestyle of its customers, as well as adding to its 24/7 replacement battery roadside assist to be able to include fuel, changing tyres and assisting customers locked out of their cars along with battery deliveries.
Ruthie and Howdie’s involvement and commitment to the local community goes beyond the store. They are involved with Western Pride Football Club, Ipswich Hospice Care, Ipswich Relay for Life, Ipswich Symphony Orchestra and support fundraising for Cupcake Inc cancer charity. They have a strong commitment to the local community through recycling, having won awards for Community Environmental.
