Ian and Bernadette Powell opened their brand new store in November 2014. With a background in the finance sector, Ian opted to be his own boss after seeing a story on Sky News about franchises, so visited Battery World’s Liverpool store and fell in love with the brand. With his wife borne and bred in Campbelltown and he a resident himself for over 20 years, Ian needed little prompting to become part of the network.
Not only do the husband and wife work together their children Jack and Emma are known to pop in when its busy ensuring you get family service from people who have a vested interest in keeping customers happy. Jack is an apprentice electrician so can offer some extra advice to keep you charged.
A mad baseball fan: the store also hits a homerun for local baseball’s Macarthur Orioles and Camden Red Sox with Battery World Campbelltown throwing their support behind this fast paced game though sponsorship. “I love everything baseball,” Ian said,” I have played for over 36 years and was president for the Mets Baseball club so I know how important it is for businesses to support local sport and the community.”
Battery World Campbell town also donated batteries to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead to help families who were doing it tough along with fundraising for Camp Quality, Bravehearts, drought relief for farmers and autism research. They also support recycling initiatives through school and in-store recycling for all types of disused batteries - happily taking in your old domestic batteries for recycling from cars to AAs.
