Travers Bawden is a Battery World record holder – he is the first person, in the network’s 18-year history, to own four Battery World stores. Even Travers would never have thought back in November 2013, when he bought his first store at Burleigh that two years later he would also own Nerang, Oxenford and the Southport stores.
The Gold Coast local had a background in real estate finance but longed to be his own boss. He could see the need for portable power was set to continue so was attracted to Battery World. Travers also reckons our desire to tap into the sun for energy will see technological changes in solar power surge ahead in coming years as cutting edge technology is rolled out becoming common place in our homes.
Travers reckons his staffs are the real strength of his businesses – teams that always goes the extra mile for shoppers: delivering exceptional customer service. They love being able to fix people’s problems and give them a solution to their power issues and troubles.
Battery World has a strong commitment to their local community supporting children’s charities like Camp Quality and Bravehearts, to drought relief for farmers and autism research. They also support recycling initiatives through school and in-store recycling for all types of disused batteries - happily taking in your old domestic batteries for recycling from cars to AAs.
