Meet the new face of Battery World Toronto: a fresh start by the lake

For ecommerce and business management specialist Hayden Lee, taking on the franchise from longtime owner Paul Sheehan was a continuation of his experience in systems, integrations and procurement.

After moving from Sydney three years ago with his family, it was a chance sighting of a position at the store that led to his new path at the trusted local institution.

An experienced sailor since he was a toddler, Hayden currently crews for other boat owners one afternoon and enjoys getting time out on the lake when he can.

But Hayden's love of boating isn't just a personal interest - it's valuable local knowledge. Lake Macquarie, the largest coastal saltwater lake in the southern hemisphere, means Toronto residents have specific battery needs. As Hayden says: everyone's got a boat or a caravan or a jet ski or all three. The store sees a lot more boat-related business compared to other Battery World locations.

This firsthand understanding of what the community needs - whether it's deep cycle batteries for boats, power solutions for caravans or reliable batteries for jet skis - gives Hayden unique insight into serving Toronto customers.

Being part of the community is core to the Battery World ethos and Hayden is keen to build those local connections and already is thinking about how to give back. He wants to explore opportunities in sponsorships and offering free testing for different clubs, recognising the great potential to support local organisations.
