Battery World Partners With Olympian

Powering Izzi Batt-Doyle

Olympian Isobel Batt Doyle has been pounding the pavement for as long as she can remember and now, just weeks out from the Paris 2024 Games, she has run straight into a partnership with Australia’s leading battery retailer.

Battery World is all charged up to support the South Australian long-distance runner on her road to the biggest sporting stage on the planet (and beyond).

“We’re all about powering the passions of Australians and Izzi’s spirit and passion for athletics fits with our brand perfectly,” said Battery World General Manager, Johnny Kennedy.

“We can’t wait to cheer Izzi on in Paris and support her in her future endeavours, of which we have no doubt there will be many.”

In the past few weeks Izzi qualified for the 5,000m in Paris. In fact, she bettered her South Australian record by 10 seconds and took her ranking to No.4 on the All-Time Australia list.

The 28-year-old’s running career began at the tender age of nine when she took part in the sixkilometre City Bay Fun Run in Adelaide alongside her stepdad.

A year later she was entering cross-country events and by the time she hit 14 the athletics track had drawn her in.

Batt-Doyle is a former parkrun world record holder, a five-time South Australian State Record Holder, and has represented Australia multiple times at the World Championships, Commonwealth and Olympic Games.

“With the Paris Olympics just a few weeks away, I have been training hard to be at my best to represent Australia at my second Olympic Games. I am incredibly grateful for the support of Battery World to help power my campaign,” said Batt-Doyle, who is currently at a training camp in Spain.

She made her Olympic debut in Tokyo, where she placed 15th in her heat in the 5000m event.

Batt-Doyle’s new partnership with Battery World will see her involved in some of the brand’s marketing campaigns; she’ll visit stores in her home state post-Olympics; and in return, the team will assist the track to long-distance talent continue to power her passion for the sport her entire family is involved in.

Hilton Franchise Partner Brian O’Connor can remember Izzi from her Little Athletics days and is proud that he and his South Australian counterparts can partner with her in this way.

“We’ve got no doubt Izzi will be competing in Paris and we’ll be locked to our television screens every second cheering her on,” said Mr O’Connor.

“Powering up Izzi’s passion and having her join the Battery World family is a win for everyone.”

The final Paris Olympics Australian Athletics Team Announcement will be made on July 7, 2024, with the athletics program to kick off on Thursday, August 1, 2024.
