Travelling Australia is our happy place. So whether it’s visiting those outback country towns, spending time on the coast or travelling remotely, dependable and reliable auxiliary power is essential for running fridges, lights and these days even a toaster or an induction hot plate.

The new Century Lithium 150XLi+ caught our eye due to several reasons. Its physical size, the weight, capacity, brand and support are all high on our checklist when thinking about a dual battery replacement.

To say that Century understand the needs of the Australian battery requirements would be an understatement. The new Century Lithium 150XLi+ is available exclusively at Battery World, which has over 100 stores throughout the country, showcasing their expertise in auxiliary power.

Century have managed to get all this extra power into the same standard footprint that the majority of products use, giving it incredible flexibility for installation. This drop-in replacement for the N70ZZ size battery (L:307mm x W:172mm x H:212mm) will enable you to replace that Flooded or AGM battery without the need to change the hold down brackets or use non-standard battery boxes.

Something to note though is that replacement of the battery charger may be required if it doesn’t have a specific Lithium charging profile, and this product is NOT suitable for under bonnet applications. Most Lithium products have a maximum operating temperature of around 50 degrees Celsius.

Incorporating Advanced Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) technology, the C12-150XLi+ is capable of delivering over 3000 cycles (2), longer service life, more usable energy and up to 10 times faster recharging (3), all things that make it easier when on the road travelling.

The BMS (Battery Management System) is one of the most critical components in a Lithium battery. Its performance and functionality are what help differentiate lithium batteries in the market. This inbuilt advanced BMS acts as the battery’s control unit to regulate and protect the cells and ensure that the battery operates within safe limits, preventing short circuits, faults and damage — something you don’t want to happen while travelling.

All the information you need to know is available on a Bluetooth app. This state-of-the-art Bluetooth monitoring system allowed us to monitor the battery’s capacity, state of health and runtime from our mobile phone. It is suitable for iOS and Android operating systems.

What also impressed us was the Century Lithium range had additional investment undertaken in certification and testing to ensure the highest standard of product design, quality, performance and safety. The product has been developed and tested in accordance with industry standards relating to both performance and safety.
