Battery World has announced the appointment of its new General Manager (GM), Johnny Kennedy, to drive the brand forward as Australia’s leading battery retailer offering second-to-none battery expertise, solutions and customer service Australia-wide.

Mr Kennedy brings to the GM role more than 26 years of experience in the battery industry, working across Business Development, Sales Management and Marketing in both Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to joining Battery World, Mr. Kennedy has managed sales teams for Lion Batteries, Federal Batteries and Century Yuasa Batteries.

In his most recent role, he developed online training platforms to provide employees and customers with up-to-date product and industry knowledge, which has grown to assist other major retailers in market as well as TAFE training providers. Mr Kennedy also brings his experience as a board member of the Australian Battery Industry Association (ABIA) to the role.

“I am passionate about the pivotal role we play in keeping communities, homes and businesses recharged,” Mr Kennedy said.

“Our locally-owned franchises are the lifeblood of many towns. This was made even more evident as we worked through the challenges of 2020, with our franchise partners coming forward, more than ever, to support communities with top quality Aussie-made products, local expertise and Aussie-wide warranties.”

Mr. Kennedy said he looks forward to leading Battery World in its continued success as a brand and franchise network, with a focus on training, product knowledge and customer service.

“I look forward to ensuring Battery World continues its growth trajectory, whilst continuing to support our franchise partners with exciting business opportunities and delivering innovative portable-power solutions to our customers,” he said.
