Franchisee FAQs

Franchise FAQs

Candidates that are looking to set up a new franchise in an available territory will look at approx. $250,000.00 (excl. GST). This amount covers the Franchise Establishment Fee, store build and fit-out costs, the initial stock and equipment for the store and consultancy fees where applicable. Please note that this amount excludes purchase of a roadside vehicle.

Candidates that return their Confidentiality Agreement and move into the Due Diligence stage will be provided with the disclosure document to look further into expected costs. As always, candidates are required to receive independent financial, legal and business advice on the opportunity.

As Australia’s number one battery retailer, franchisees will provide customers in their territory quality products and exceptional service. In order to fulfill this, franchisees will operate their retail store and provide the 24hour roadside service available within their assigned territory. Other services include delivery and jobs assigned from Nationally Managed Accounts through Battery World Australia.

Battery World Australia enjoys a network of franchise partners that come from a variety of backgrounds and different walks of life. What that means is that you don’t necessarily need to be from an automotive/electrical background. This is because we provide comprehensive training to get you ready to operate your own store. This doesn’t mean we are on the lookout for just anyone; there are special qualities that are required to be a Batteryologist.

    • Enthusiasm to not only own and operate a store but to provide amazing service to customers and find solutions to their needs
    • A keen interest in learning about batteries and stored energy products
    • A business mindset that focuses on service and growth
    • A person that can adhere to and follow a proven franchise system that has been in operation for 20+ years
    • A leader that can not only operate a store but also manage their staff to give their customers confidence in their service and store
    • Someone who enjoys problem solving and finding solutions for their customer’s battery and stored energy problems.

One of Battery World Australia’s commitments to incoming franchisee is the training and support provided when joining the network. Candidates will be given a six week comprehensive training program that covers all areas necessary to ensure you are ready to run and operate your store.

The training is comprised of a two week formal induction with the Battery World Support Office where candidates learn about the necessary systems of operation in a Battery World Store. This portion of the training is also where you get to meet members of the support office so you get to know who we are and what we do. Candidates will then have four weeks in-store training so that they can get hands on experience understanding the day in the life of a Batteryologist.

Once all training is completed and the store is opened, the franchisee will undertake a six month mentor program where an existing franchisee will provide support for the first six months of a franchisee opening their store. This is coupled with the ongoing support from Battery World Support Office and the franchisee’s assigned Franchise Development Manager for their state. This is to provide franchisees support to establish the business whilst they start their business growth within the network.

    The recruitment process is comprised of 5 stages. These stages are, as below;

    Stage One: Introduction

    Stage Two: Due Diligence

Stage Three: Business Planning and Approval

    Stage Four: Application Finalised

Stage Five: Store Opening and Ongoing Support

Whilst we work alongside candidates to assist them transitioning from candidate to franchisees, the timeframes can vary based on certain elements in the recruitment stages.
