Meet the owners!
At 22 Corey Helm is Battery World’s youngest franchisee. Together with husband and wife duo Ailsa and Martyn Cross – the trio are the new faces of our Ryde store.
Corey has worked with Martyn as an auto electrician for the last seven years bringing a wealth of experience with him. The mad keen basketballer stepped away from being employee to business partner– when the trio decided to buy a Battery World store.
“It is such a trusted brand,” Corey said, “I loved it that when I was doing my research it didn’t matter what store you visited the staff were really friendly and loved working there. I really love coming to work every day.”
With four children in ages ranging from five to 11 years, Ailsa and Martyn understand the pressures of juggling family life and work. They have not only been married for 15 years but have also owned an auto-electric business for the same amount of time – so also bring a wealth of business know-how to the store.
The duo are big believers in mentoring young people and made a decision to bring Corey into the business when they identified his commitment to business and his incredible work ethic.
The Ryde team understands we are trying to get more out of our devices so stocks batteries for more than 8000 gadgets and devices – from your older model mobile phone to the very latest in remotes for your garage door. Needless to say this team is quick to help you with caravan, camping and marine needs to keeping your laptop and mobile power charged.
Battery World has a strong commitment to their local community this year supporting Australia’s most trusted charity Guide Dogs Australia providing the funding to train two dogs. In the past they have supported Camp Quality, Bravehearts, Drought Relief for Famers and Autism Research.
They also support recycling initiatives through school and in-store recycling for all types of disused batteries - happily taking in your old domestic batteries for recycling from cars to AAs.
