Meet the owners
Little did Malaga’s Paul Douglas realise a few chats with his neighbour, Battery World O’Connor’s Noel Brennan, would lead to a career change.
Paul has spent the last 12 years working in mining in support roles for geologists and as a project manager for mining camps but he was looking for a change.
Noel had also worked in the mining sector and was happily talking to Paul every time they bumped into each other about how much he loved his new business especially being his own boss.
So you guessed it – when Battery World Malaga came up for sale – the neighbours took things up a notch and are now fellow franchisees.
“It is such a trusted brand,” Paul said, “I loved it that when I was doing my research it didn’t matter what store you visited the staff were really friendly and loved working there. I really love coming to work every day. I especially love being my own boss.”
With a young family, Paul understands just how many batteries are needed to keep all those gadgets up and running. He is excited about how quickly technology is changing particularly in the portable power sector. His promise to Malaga customers is to deliver great expert advice and top-notch customer service.
Battery World has a strong commitment to their local community this year supporting Australia’s most trusted charity Guide Dogs Australia providing the funding to train two dogs. In the past they have supported Camp Quality, Bravehearts, Drought Relief for Famers and Autism Research.
