Meet the owners
Russell Taylor’s Karratha store ticked off number 87 for the network as Battery World extended its commitment to the west. Russell has been a familiar face on the local landscape for the last 20 years swinging open the doors to his brand new store in November. No newcomer to franchising, Mr Taylor owns the town’s Athletes Foot store as well, but saw a real need for all things batteries.
“When the going gets tough we all try to get that little bit more out of our gadgets and appliances,” he said, ”We might hang onto an old phone and when it needs a new battery we are now here to help. I have real confidence in this town having worked in and around the Pilbara for the last 20 years, most recently in the building industry for the past five – so I am happy to be called a local."
“Battery technology and portable power will continue to be a dominant frontier as we seek to be continually plugged in. I was really impressed by the diversity of batteries and the increasing demand and thought this town could really do with this specialty.”
Russell and his team aim to deliver top notch customer service. As part of Battery World’s philanthropic footprint – his store contributes to fundraising events supporting charities as diverse as children’s charity Bravehearts to drought relief for farmers and autism research..
