Meet the owners
Brookvale’s Battery World is one of the country’s oldest stores.
It started in 1998 when Chris Arkus’ grandfather decided to expand the auto electrical business he started at Crows Nest in 1935 . Together with brother Luke, Chris has long been a fixture on the local retail scene and helped successfully move the store to it’s current location where the duo have a reputation for delivering exceptional service. Luke has since moved on and UK-born former automotive mechanic Craig Patrick has brought his skills to the business. Craig met his wife in China when he worked there as a manufacturing operations manager – and married on his 88-year-old grandfather’s birthday.
The team love being able to fix people’s problems and give them a solution to their power issues and troubles. Brookvale has a strong commitment to their local community – donating batteries to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, to
taking in dumped batteries retrieved each year by Eco –Dives at Manly and recycling them at their own cost to school initiatives for battery recycling and supporting fundraising for Camp Quality, Bravehearts, drought relief for farmers and autism research.
